Experimental analysis of CO2 frost front behaviour in moving packed beds for cryogenic CO2 capture

چکیده

In this work, the feasibility of a novel method cryogenic carbon capture based on dioxide frost deposition onto cold moving bed is explored. As gas mixture including CO2 flows through sufficiently packed bed, deposited material as frost. warmed by stream front advances bed. Experimental measurements rate advance within static are used to set up achieve continuous removal. Precooled and dry binary mixtures nitrogen determine velocity in column. The measured fixed experiments with varying concentrations flow rates range 0.4–1 mm/s. experimental results were design system that would match velocities so be possible. Experiments conducted investigate behaviour temperature profiles column under conditions. These show accumulation does not occur successfully demonstrates capture.

Functionalized Polymeric Membranes for CO2 Capture

Reducing CO2 emission and lowering the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has quickly become one of the most urgent environmental issues. While a variety of technologies and methods have been developed, the separation of CO2 from gas streams is still a critical issue. Apart from establishing new techniques, the exploration of membrane materials with high separation performance ...

Evidence for Residual CO2 Frost

The first spacecraft observations of the south residual polar cap of Mars were obtained by the Mariner 9 orbiter during the Martian southern summer season, 1971-1972. Analyses of Viking orbiter observations obtained 3 Mars years later have shown that residual carbon dioxide frost was present at the south polar cap in 1977. In this study, Mariner 9 infrared interferometer spectrometer spectra an...

Effect of dolomite decomposition under CO2 on its multicycle CO2 capture behaviour under calcium looping conditions.

One of the major drawbacks that hinder the industrial competitiveness of the calcium looping (CaL) process for CO2 capture is the high temperature (∼930-950 °C) needed in practice to attain full calcination of limestone in a high CO2 partial pressure environment for short residence times as required. In this work, the multicycle CO2 capture performance of dolomite and limestone is analysed unde...

Simulation of Co2 Capture Process

Carbon dioxide capture process has been simulated and studied under different process conditions. It has been shown that several process parameters such as lean amine temperature, number of adsorber stages, number of stripper stages and stripper pressure affect different process conditions and outputs such as carbon dioxide removal and reboiler duty. It may be concluded that the simulation of c...
